Property Listing & Verification Policy
How a listing gets onto Hommigo, what we check, and what happens when one breaks the rules.
This policy explains how listings are published and checked on Hommigo, whether you are an owner, broker, society manager, hostel manager, tenant or buyer.
01 What this policy covers
This policy explains who can list a property on Hommigo, what we check before and after a listing goes live, and what happens to listings that do not meet our standards. It applies to rent, lease, sale, short-stay and PG/hostel listings.
02 Who can list a property
Property owners can list directly. Brokers can list on behalf of an owner, but only with the owner's authorisation, as explained in our Broker/Agent Policy. Society managers and hostel/PG managers can list facilities, beds or units they are responsible for managing.
03 Verification before you list
Owners, brokers and sellers go through KYC verification before their listings are published. This helps confirm that the person listing a property is who they say they are.
- You will be asked for identity and, where relevant, ownership or authorisation documents.
- A listing may stay in a pending state until verification is complete.
- We may ask for more information or documents if something does not look right.
04 Accuracy of a listing
The person who creates a listing is responsible for making sure the price, availability, photos, floor plan and description are accurate and kept up to date, including marking a property as unavailable once it is rented, leased, sold or booked.
05 What we check, and what we do not
We run checks where we can, such as verifying the identity of the person listing and reviewing listings for obvious red flags. We do not independently verify every detail of every listing, such as the exact physical condition of a property, so we encourage tenants and buyers to verify important details themselves, for example during a visit, before committing to anything.
06 Listings that break the rules
We remove or suspend listings, and may suspend the account behind them, for reasons including:
- Fake, duplicate or already-unavailable listings
- Misleading price, photos or description
- Listings the person creating them was not authorised to post
- Discriminatory terms, or content that violates our Content Policy
07 Reporting a listing
If a listing looks wrong or misleading, you can report it directly from the app, or use our website's Report a Property form. We look into every genuine report.
08 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Hommigo adds new listing types or verification steps. We will post the updated policy here with a new "last updated" date.
